Global War on Terrorism Memorial Dedication
Columbus, GA, National Infantry Museum: In October 2017 we were privileged to be invited to attend the dedication of the Global War on Terrorism Memorial at the National Infantry Museum (NIM) at Ft. Benning, GA. The memorial consists of eight granite panels etched with the names of nearly 7,000 service members who have died in the Global War on Terrorism since 9/11. A special event was made even more special with the presence of our good friend, Doug Magruder, a veteran himself, who has gone above and beyond to honor B.J. and to help put smiles on our faces. We salute you, Doug!
Illinois Highway Dedication Ceremony
The scene was the New Windsor Presbyterian Church on a rainy Wednesday morning in April 2016. The overflow and standing-room crowd filled the church and fellowship hall for this historic event. This was the dedication ceremony renaming a section of Illinois State Highway 17 in honor of B.J.
The event was emceed by Illinois State Representative Don Moffitt. Also speaking was Illinois State Senator Chuck Weaver, Rev. Mark Bedford, New Windsor Mayor Mike Peterson, Dr. Brian Anseeuw, Leonard Luxmore, and others. It was a rather solemn morning as all reflected back on B.J.'s sacrifice and the sacrifices of all who have given so much to defend the freedoms that we enjoy today.

Highway to be Renamed April 27, 2016
A section of Illinois Highway 17 will soon be renamed in honor of B.J. The Illinois House and Senate have both unanimously passed a resolution that will rename part of State Highway 17 as the Cpl. Bryant J. Luxmore Memorial Highway.
This section of highway will run from the Henry/Mercer County Line to the Village of Viola. The date for the dedication ceremony will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, April 27th at Depot Park, New Windsor.
The proposal for dedicating this section of highway was initiated through the Mercer County Board and then chairman, Dr. Brian Anseeuw. The legislation was sponsored in the Illinois House by State Rep. Don Moffitt and in the Senate by State Sen. Chuck Weaver. We appreciate the work of all those who helped make this happen. What a wonderful and lasting way to honor our hero!
